Places to Visit around Kozak Plateau

1. Perperene Antique City

The ancient city of Kozak Plateau located at the Gebilir Kayasi site of Aşağıbeyköyü houses a temple, a bath, an amphitheater and two fortifications. The city, which is thought to be a bishopric center in the Byzantine period, is one of the places to be seen.

2. Bergama Archeology Museum

Bergama Archaeological Museum; Izmir’s Pergamon district in Carl Fever and Alexander Conze management made to put the artifacts unearthed in the excavations which began around the same time in the Pergamon Museum in one of Turkey’s two archaeological repository. The museum, which displays many archeological works belonging to many periods from Early Bronze Age to Byzantium, can be visited every day except religious holidays.

3. Pergamon Ancient City

Pergamon Antique City is one of the places in Pergamon county of İzmir. Pergamon, which is the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon in antiquity, shows the remains of buildings like palace, temple, theater, agora, acropolis. In the ancient city which succeeded to enter the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014, there is also the world famous sacred site Asklepios of the Red Courtyard, Amphitheater and Antique Age.

4. Allianoi

This city, which is similar to Pergamon, is 18 km. Long road connecting Pergamon to İvrindi. It is located in the Paşa Ilıcası district in the north east. With its thermal structure, monumental fountains, ceramic kilns, wineries and Allianoi, one of the most exciting antique towns of Anatolia, is facing the danger of being flooded by the Yortanlı Dam around it.

5. Atatürk Botanical Garden

The Atatürk Botanical Garden, a garden with approximately 3,000 varieties of plants brought from different geographies and tropical places, is established on an area of ​​30 hectares. Turkey is one of the most competent of the park and botanical garden is also known in the international arena. Especially the “ATA” word written in plants is waiting for the park which is attracting attention with its moon-shaped environment arrangement.
