Ağrı, İshakpaşa Palace / Doğubayazıt

İshakpasa Palace is constructed into the terrace, constituted on a mountainous area, dominating the lowland in 5km. east of Doğubayazıt County, bounded to Ağrı Province. It is understood from the existing epigraph that the construction of palace is started in 1684 and the construction of palace is completed by İshak Pasha in 1785. Palace is surrounded with high walls and it is in the position of the castle. It is entered into the palace, which is composed of interior and exterior courtyards, through a monumental gate, opening to the east. All of the service buildings, located in the exterior courtyard, are destroyed completely. It is entered into the interior courtyard, are destroyed completely. It is entered into enterior courtyard through completely. It is entered into the interior courtyard through a second monumental gate. Structures, which are in the left side of such courtyard, are in ruined position. Selamlık structures, mosque and tomb adjacent to the mosque are located in the right side. It is entered into Harem from a third monumental gate in the second courtyard. Besides rooms; kitchen, storeroom, bakery, and bath are located in Harem section. Second floor of harem section with two floors is destroyed completely. Stonework decorations on the monumental gates remind Seljuks period.
