Bishop Basil, an important person in the history of Christianity, as well as a centre of religious education and thinking.

It was here that Bishop Basil’s ideas were first taught. Life in the monastery in the region has risen to 1000 years.

Because it is in the upper parts and it is used as Guvercinlik (pigeon loft), it is very well protected from the destruction of people.

 

As the inside of the church is illuminated by the light coming from only one small window, the colours of the dyes used to colour the frescoes could be so vivid.

Of course, in order to further protect this beauty, a fee has been charged to enter, limit and further reduce the number of visitors and try to prevent destruction.
