Waking up in Şirince…

Slipping out of the historical atmosphere of Selçuk and going to the village of Şirince located 8 km away over a hill covered with the olive trees means to open the doors of a very different world. The village, and old Greek settlement was evacuated during the Exchange in 1923-24 and refuges coming form the region of Kavala of Macedonia were settled here. The old name of Kırkınca was tronsformed to Kirkince and then Çirkince and finally the village was called Şirince in 1930s.

Şirince impressive with the houses displaying the classic qualities of the Anatolian architecture attracts a huge number of visitors today with its authentic and oartially “modenr village” life…

The abundance borught by the agricultural products such as grapes and olives joins with the laces, souvenirs, loca handicrafts, hotels and guesthouses keeping their authentic characteristics… Şirince is an ideal site for those who wish to breathe the atmosphere og a typical “Turkish Village” and to wake up in the pure mountain air…

Some of them manifest the authentic village spirit and some of them manifest the classical Anatolia.
