Bursa Day Trip from Istanbul

Join us on an unforgettable day trip to Bursa, the historical city located just 2 hours away from Istanbul. As the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa is home to stunning Ottoman architecture, breathtaking natural landscapes, and a rich cultural heritage. Itinerary:

We will pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul between 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM and take you to Yalova by ferry. During the journey, you can relax and enjoy the scenic views of the Marmara Sea. Upon arrival in Yalova, we’ll make a short break for tea or an optional ATV safari ride in nature (at an extra cost). Afterward, we’ll continue our drive to Bursa, making a couple of stops at local artisan shops, where you can pick up some Turkish delights or local jams as souvenirs.

Once in Bursa, we will head up to the stunning Uludağ Mountain for a cable car ride. The ride takes you up to 2,543 meters above sea level, offering spectacular panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscapes. Uludağ is not only famous for its skiing in winter but also offers a peaceful retreat with fresh mountain air.

After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll continue exploring the city’s historical treasures. Our first stop is the Grand Mosque (Ulu Camii), an Ottoman architectural masterpiece built in 1400. Here, you’ll marvel at its 20 domes, vast prayer hall, and exquisite calligraphy that decorates the walls.

Next, we’ll visit the Green Mosque and its nearby mausoleum, a 2-story, two-dome mosque built between 1413-1424, and the Mausoleum known for its beautiful green tiles that cover the walls. We’ll also take time to visit the tombs of the Ottoman sultans, Osman Gazi and Orhan Gazi, the founding figures of the Ottoman Empire.

No trip to Bursa would be complete without a visit to the Kozahan Bazaar, where the silk trade flourished during the Ottoman period. Here, you can stroll through the market and shop for authentic silk goods and other local handicrafts.

After exploring the city’s history and culture, we’ll return to the ferry and make our way back to Istanbul. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel at the end of the day, leaving you with lasting memories of this historic and scenic journey.
