Tour Details

Eastern Turkey is like a vast national park, with vast landscapes and dramatic, austere scenery. Summer is the best time to visit, as the region is high and mountainous, thaws late, and snows early. While the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya sinks into the sticky summer heat, the weather in Erzurum is dry and pleasant. (If you come in winter, come for the skiing.) Come for the scenery, the many stunning archaeological sites, the architecture of the region’s historic buildings and to get a sense of how it was lived in an earlier time.
